If you can send a letter to God, what would you write?
Yim Sreymoch (Civil Engineering):
Dear God,
Thank you for the
existence you've given me. Thank you for all the great people in my life. Help
me remember to take care of them and think of where I can help them the most.
Help me to remember everything they do for me. I'm grateful for where I am, since
the majority of the world was not born into and does not have everything that I
have. Help me take care of the people around me and remember how fortunate I
am. I struggle to build things and bring my own dreams about. I hope this is
what you intended me to do because that's where my yearning is. Take care of
all of us...protect us from one another...help us all to remember what we have
and for those of us who can share to share the wealth. I love you very much,
God, and hope to see you after I die. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Dear God,
At present, the whole
world is experiencing a devastating disease: COVID 19. Therefore, I ask you to
help prevent the spread of this disease and let it disappear from the world.
Besides this, please stop the hearts of people in greed and contempt, as the
rich look down on the poor, and let them stop their jealousy. And finally, may
you make my dreams come true. May the love of those around me, including yours,
be everlasting. I'm glad to meet you. I wish you would stay on earth forever.
Yours sincerely,
Lykheng

Dear God,
You are so powerful. You
are so great for us. Thank you for all the blessings that you have given to us.
Thank you for forgiving all my faults and my sins. What I want to ask right now
is: “please save us”. Please end this coronavirus pandemic and bring back
normal life to us. It’s spreading around the world and it has killed many
people. I don’t want to live with this situation; I’m so afraid of it and I
don’t want lockdown, so please save us. I’m so thankful to you that I am still
safe and happy. I hope that my family, my friends and everyone can stay safe
together.
Sincerely,
Lisa

Dear God,
I just want to thank you for all you have given me in my
life. Through the ups and the downs, you have always found a way to show your
presence. I enjoy every day and cherish the days you have given me. Over the
years of my life, I have realized how you wake me up every day and that I
should be thankful for that - so thank you. I have realized the family that I
have is a blessed one and I wouldn’t change it for the world. As for my
friends, I am deeply grateful for them. I am thankful that I have been able to
meet so many great people in my life. I am honored you showed your loving arms
to me and gave me the chance to see your grace in the world. God, without you,
I would be nothing. I think most of us take that for granted and I am at fault
of that too. I thank you for creating us; just the fact that you thought of us
and brought us to life amazes me every day. Thank you for everything you have
done for me.
Yours sincerely,
Sreytouch
Teacher Brenda:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for this new day. Thank you for time to sleep.
Thank you for food to eat. Thank you for meaningful work. Thank you for never
giving up on me. Thank you for constantly reminding me that you love me. Tomorrow
is my last lesson with the Cambodian students of Life University. Thank you for
introducing me to this online teaching opportunity at just the right time -
when I wasn’t busy with other teaching assignments. Thank you especially that
at Life University, I could share with students about you. For surely you are
our hope and security, more than qualifications, more than money that can be
earned with our qualifications. Thank you for the vibrant students I have met
at Life University. I pray that you’ll continue to watch over them, and draw
them close to you. May all of them experience the joy of salvation. May they
shine for you in whatever they do.
In Jesus’ name, Amen. (31 Aug 2020)
Philippians 4: 6-7
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
